“How To Be A Friend To An Alzheimer’s
Caregiver”
This is a special presentation by authors and former caregivers Lyn
and Bill Roche for your church congregation, your community, organization or
business. It provides and introduces successful ways to reach out to families
affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related conditions.
Caring for a loved
one with dementia and cognitive impairment can be an extremely stressful and
challenging experience. It need not be a lonely one, but unfortunately it often
is – and, isolation can be damaging to caregivers and the persons in their
care.
Many caregivers
relate that they lose friends who don’t understand what they’re experiencing.
Friends, neighbors, and co-workers are often hesitant to offer comfort and
support – simply because they don’t know how.
Through this
inspiring and informative presentation, attendees learn ways of showing they
care, from being a good listener to giving some much-needed respite. After
attending, individuals are better able to identify and discern areas in which
they are comfortable and able to offer assistance.
“How To Be A Friend To An Alzheimer’s Caregiver” is
non-technical, non-threatening, and user-friendly. It provides ways to
establish and maintain a much-needed connection between people on a difficult
life-changing journey and the people who really do care about them.
